Help with Speedplay Identification

Morning All

I have just bought these pedals off the bay of flees

Didn't pay a lot so not a massive issue as im sure I can swap the cleats with someone somewhere

From what I can See the pedals are X2 and the Cleats are for Zeros, however the previous owner assures me they work perfectly even though the Speedplay website specifically says they are not compatible

Am I wrongly identifying them or do you think they will work ok, im loath to fit them to the bike and have them fail to release at a main road junction......

simply fit to bike and fit cleats to shoes and then imagine they are your first ever clipless so just lean against OH/friend or wall or whatever and try clipping in and out a fair few times

Common sense says don't go out on them until you've tested them at home lol certainly don't test them on the road! But they look compatible and as if they have been used together and if the seller says they are they should be, why else would he sell them as a pair
