Help with fork crown

Ok guys. Ebay carbon forks. Horrible gap between frame and forks (Its the proper head set for the frame). Brake Not sitting flush.
A picture is best

Any ideas guys
Throw them away.
Send them back
or botch job.

Looks like you have the crown race on upside down. For the brakes to be sitting like that, the centre bolt must be bent...or the faces on the fork are not square..

Looking at the brake, I wonder if someone has attached it with a nut inside the fork crown.

Have checked mine and the catalogue/parts list. No plain washer on mine (similar vintage to OP's) or in current spec. That depth of fork may risk insufficient threads being engaged if that washer's left there. Serrated washer goes against the forks. It's there to prevent the calipers turning (together) about their axis.

Thanks for all the help guys.I will strip them down and I'll get more pictures up tomorrow. The washer is only temporary, It's just to stop the pads hitting the forks for now.
The fork crown is the right way up. The drilling of the hole for the brakes, Could be at the wrong angle or face wrong angle.
