Hello all,

I need to replace my head set on my Revolution courier 2008(ish), the top bearing race has split so any more pressure applied just opens it up more making the problem worse I've never messed with this type of headset so could do with some advise on what measurements I need to take in order to get the right type/size. The bearing tension/play is taken up by pressure applied by the central Allen key in the center of the head stock rather than a threaded ring. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry about photo quality the pic was taken in macro with a flash in a dark workshop !!!

This has nearly everything you need to know about it. Given the vintage and kind of bike chance is you have a standard 1-1/8" aheadset.

If you are very careful diy tools of just a flat bladed screwdriver, hammer and a threaded rod with matching nuts and large washers can be adequate for the job.

..a long way from somewhere called Home..
i spoke to this chap only this morning about a new 1'' headset for the Peugeot
a previous supplier had sent me one for a BMX....

i do not have a clue about ''stack heights'' etc
he took the time to discuss, advised which measurements to take - well pleased.
