I have to travel from Southampton to Carlisle in September. I have checked the rail fares and been totaly  but I have found a fare for £13.55 that means crossing from London Waterloo to London Euston with the bike(loaded with Panniers) between 01:00 and 05:00 and I will have to book soon to get a ticket at this price (other quotes £34-£79) is there a relatively safe way of crossing London at that time on a morning and how easy / difficult is it. I am presuming I will have to ride between the stations.
I will appreciate any feed back on this.

That time of the morning is bound to be fine - even for central London.

London is largely flat so a loaded bike is not going to be noticeable when you're riding. It's only up hills where you notice all the extra weight

No problem. So long as youve got lights on your bike it should be a safe and pleasant ride.

Thanks for all the prompt replys, when I have crossed London Solo I have always used the tube and did not realise how close the stations were. If I can get the £30 ticket that goes via Wolverhampton I will other wise I will be travelling via London for £13.55, mind when I have looked at where the train starts from and picks up and I am tempted to have another days riding in the South and catch the train at Winchester.
