Picked this up from a customer after finishing an Air Handler install, he pulled it down and said his brother rode it for years.

I mentioned it bc I noticed it was carbon fiber, but know nothing more about cycling.

I can’t seem to find anymore identifying marks to help pinpoint what model and year this Trek is, any help or suggestions?

This is from when Trek had a dalliance with gluing cf tubes into aluminium lugs which started in 1988. So your bike will be from then onwards.

Based on the six digit serial number on the bottom bracket I'd say it's 1989 in terms of vintage, I can't help with the model though. It's definitely a similar vintage to the 2300 that @MichaelW2 hinted at above, but by 1993 they'd moved to 7 digit serial numbers. Also it looks like the headbadge has a raised logo and name which would further hint at 1989/1990 vintage.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Not too late - still downtube levers (indexed?), BioPace chainset, 7 speed cassette(?), brake cables under bar tape. I have a Peugeot with the same setup - 1992/3.
