Help: Shimano cassette question

Hi guys and gals,

I would like to know if Shimano HG50 9 Speed Cassette 13-25 would be a direct replacement for a 12-25 HG50 cassette? Assuming it's just a minor difference on the gearing and it should fit my PR2 wheelset fine?

My PR2 wheelset had a 10 speed tiagra cassette on it but I believe I should be able to fit the 9 speed sora cassette without a spacer as it's a steel hub?

Yep, 9 speed and 10 speed cassettes have the same width freehub body and are interchangeable.

The 13-25 cassette will fit fine, slightly lower top end but I'm presuming you live in a flat area if you are running a 12-25 presently.

Yep very flat. I will not miss a slight deviation. As long as it fits. I plan to use my spare wheel on a turbo so can always revert to 12. 25 on the running wheel if I notice it..

9sp cassette will be fine.

9 speed and 10 speed cassettes have the same width freehub body and are interchangeable.

As the OP has said, the 10sp cassette is narrower and needs a 1mm spacer to fit on the 8/9/10sp freehub.
8 speed and 9 speed cassettes have the same width (as one another).
