Help - Shimano 2300 shifters

Gear cables were a bit sticky last couple of days so ordered some new ones online yesterday along with a load of bits for a complete service.

Anyway, snapped on the way home today so popped into LBS to buy a cable..

Anyway - no idea where this loops through or how to get the broken bit out!

Any tips?

IIRC there is little hole low down on one side or the other - hidden by th erubber hood in normal use. Click the thumb lever as manay times as you can and the nipple on the end of the cable should be visible in the hole. That is where you can pull out old cable and rethread the new one.
