Help!!

I'm doing my first sportive tomorrow, 77 miles. Took my bike for it's first service today, rode it round cr park on collection and gears felt fine. Got on for proper ride at home and rear gears still clunky, especially changing up to higher gears. They're Shimano Tiagra, has anyone got any tips/easy to follow instructions to tweak them? Obviously I need to be careful I don't ruin them completely! :-/

Thanks in advance!!

He makes it look so easy :-) just tried it and seems to run a bit better, wouldn't say perfect tho :-/ the low gear limiter was miles off tho! Pushed mech in and it was way past the cog! Certainly will go elsewhere for service in future!

Cheers for the link!

Would upgrading cassette or chain to higher spec make it smoother? I know some people seem to suggest going up the range just reduces weight rather than smoothness?!

Many would say yes. I can't as I run lowly Sora and have no experience of up the range components. But my indexing is spot on and shifting up and down is perfect and I can't really understand how it could be much better. My cables are looked after as is the rest of the bike.

Have only used KMC chains. Work great so no desire to try anything see.

I've got top of the range Dura ace and the shifting is worse than my previous 105. All controllable by indexing of course but i find the Dura tends to go off true every 500 miles or so.
