hi,

can anyone advise me what would be a decent inner tube for my new bike tyres please sorry if a stupid question I'm unsure what to buy.

Giant S-X2, puncture protect, 700x38mm

You'll get a dozen different answers.
Imo inner tubes are all pretty much muchness.
Though I would avoid continental as the valve core has a habit of unscrewing when attached to a pump.
I always get the cheapest I can find. In my experience they last just as long if not longer then some so called name brands.
It also depends on how you look after your tyres. If you ignore the crap that can and does stick to your tyres, it will work its way in and cause a puncture. So get in the habit of checking your tyres quickly before every ride.

I just get whatever is on offer at Wiggle. 700x38 is the key dimension and of course the valve type is important. Valve length can be too so worth measuring your existing and remaining close to that. As long as the tube covers that then you're good. I have michelin ones atm because they were super cheap.
