Help needed tracking part: v-brake boss ? (pic included)

Aye up lads,

I got myself a new set of Shimano v-brakes to replace my factory fitted Tektros.

When I came to take off the rear brakes, the whole screw thingy came off too (see pic)

I am at a loss as to how to either separate these parts so I can fit my new calipers, or even find the part I need at a local bike shop (Sheffield). The only place I can find what I think I need is something like this:

I'd love to be able to pop into a shop tomorrow morning in Sheffield to get the part I need, but I just can't find it anywhere.

Don't have a vice, but I tried it with pliers, but it's seized so badly that it is just scoring the end as i try to unscrew it :s

It happens. Those bosses come in at least 2 and possibly 3 different sizes (for the frame). If they need to be replaced then need to figure out which although a good bike shop should have them. If you haven't damaged the thread then I presume you can still ride by popping it back in and ring around the shops in the morning?

Looks like ringing around in the morning may be the best bet. It's just so frustrating spending the money on what should be a quick off/on job and it's taken me hours to sort out and hours researching for the part!

In the meantime, I'm gonna spray WD40 into the bugger and then try some neighbours for a vice in the morning.
