Help needed, disc pads

checked my brake pads and found they were worn(shimano br m466),bought a replacement pair(clarks) but cannot fit them,no matter what i try there is no way they will fit.What am i doing wrong,is it possible to damage holder? when removing pads?

You normally need to push the piston back.

Compare the new pads with the old to make sure they're exactly the same shape and then push the pistons back far enough to accommodate the new thicker pads. Always worth finely covering the back of the pads with Coppergrease to reduce squealing.

Sorted thanks,it was the pistons,although I did push them back with a screwdriver which I realise now was not a good thing to do,however have done a test ride and all seems fine,cheers
