Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
I have a Marin hybrid bike with disc brakes . The rear wheel doesn't turn freely as it seems like the brake is too tight and rubs the rib. I have never adjusted disc brakes before. What do I do to slightly ' relax' the rear brake just so the wheel runs freely again?

I have looked at the wheel and it looks true to me.

Thanks for any help.

Adjust from the top and bottom allen fittings parallel to the disk.
Just learned this yesterday

Loosen the two allen bolts on the caliper that attach to the mount. Apply the brake as hard as it will go. While keeping the brake fully on, tighten the two bolts. Release brake lever and finish tightening bolts. If this doesn't sort the problem, check the disc rotor to see if it is warped. If rotor not warped and problem persists, one of the pistons is probably sticking and needs cleaning, freeing off and lubricating.

Try as suggested above first - but my experience of Tektro hydraulics is that they do suffer from sticky pistons that don't fully retract.

x2. I binned mine and got some Shimano ones after the Tektro crap gave problems after approx the first 3 months. I soldiered on for over a year with dragging, binding, squeaking brakes then threw in the towel and haven't looked back. You can strip the caliper and remove the pistons for cleaning quite easily but it won't make any difference. I suspect the material that the seals are made of is just junk and swells or degrades causing the piston to stick because even when it is all scrupulously clean they still stick!

My mates bike has Tektro calipers and he has the same problem. He's cleaned and adjusted them to no avail. I think it's just the way they are I'm afraid :banghead:
