Trying to choose between H Son Plus Archetype and Halo Evaura rims for a rebuild on my Shimano DA hubs (28h).

Thoughts please !

Thanks in advance .

I have Archetypes and am very happy with them, they seem to be a popular rim. As for the Halo Evaura, I have no experience of them.

Mine are on Hope hubs and disc brakes, so no brake wear so to speak in terms of the rims. They are 28 spokes as they are on my commuter and with c. 6,000 miles of foul weather and commuting use, no problems with them. I believe the quoted weight is 470 grams which I don't think is either light or heavy. I have had absolutely no issues with them.

I have seen the black versions they rim will eventually wear to silver from the brake pads, although I do rather like the look of the polished silver rims.

I have some Archetypes on Novatec Hubs they have been true since the day I built them, very easy to build with, when they were new people thought they were carbon, but the finish does wear of if your using rim brakes to leave the usual shiny side walls, they feel very nimble to ride, mine are 28 hole, can't comment on the Halo.

Still can't offer an insight on the Halo rims, sorry, but I'd have no qualms about getting Archetypes again. Mine are the first wheels I've ever built, and they've been trouble free (about 2 years and 6000 miles on them now). I've abused them commuting and off-road and they've held up fine despite being the lightest rims I've ever owned. I've got 32h disc versions.

Here for rides.
If I were you I'd go for more holes. But I'm not you. I've not used those specific rims but have Halo and H Son in the fleet and they work.
