I'm getting another helmet and I've seem a Plasma helmet which looks like a MTB one so is there any reason you cant use a mountain bike helmet on the road...

Cheers

The one I was looking at was the Mavic Plasma... rather nice I thought and I can't see no visor..

Here for rides.
Isn't Plasma a range with three lids in it? It's a typical road/XC crossover design and iirc comes with a small detachable visor.

I think I draw the line at roadies wearing piss pot snow board style helmets but apart form that surely anything goes...?
The only problem you may get is if it has a visor and you're riding a road bike, as the visor may obscure your view due to the lower riding position.
Alternately, mtn bike visors are great if you wear glasses in the rain.

The important thing surely is that it fits well...not all heads and helmets are the same

That one's £100  CS only have in MD or SM, may need to measure your bonce

I will be changing the helmet at CS because the last helmet I got from them was old..
Not knowing at the time how to read what year the helmet was I got a helmet from them that was in fact over 3 years old, so I rang them and told them and they said I could change the helmet on my next visit if not used.
So thats what I'm going to do. I did pay £80 for the last one so in a sense I will only be adding a little but as you say it needs to fit and they did measure me on my last visit and said I was a small head size person.
Of course the colour has to be right..
