I have a Bell Crossfire helmet that when im out riding i get loads of wind noise to the point i mostly don't hear the cars behind me, is this normal, i can be at around 15 - 25mph against and with the wind and not much difference, the straps are flat against the side of my face and the front and back strap joins under my ear, if that helps.

Started young, and still going.

Barnet,
You could try taking the peak off of the helmet. You may be getting some extra noise from the turbulence, even at our lowish speeds.

Just get an original one, unless you get cold then look at the polars.

are buffs the same as snoods?
Oh my word, no. Buffs are things of beauty which you will come to rely upon and wear all year round, they will draw you into their charms until you realise that, like bikes, one is never enough and you need to have a summer one, a winter one, a reflective one, one to wear on your head, one because you love the design, one because it's a limited edition...

Although that could just be me. :giggle:

Buffs are seamless tubes of poly cotton material which can be worn round the neck to stop stuff going down your shirt, pulled over the mouth to stop insects or cold air, over the ears to eradicate wind noise, over the head to keep you warm, soaked in cold water before wearing to keep you cool... or just used with one end tied as a handy carrying bag for lights, computers etc when you leave your bike in town.
