Hello everyone *waves*
My name is Jenny and I like cycling!! I bought my bike back in July through the Cycle to Work Scheme and my aim is to cycle to work at least twice a week(only 7k/4.5m one way). I admit I have been off the ball since the clocks turned back as its been so dark, so windy and wet but back on it now that I have signed up for a charity ride - Ride the Night -100km!

I like to cycle in the New Forest and looking to cover some routes on the IOW and Winchester/South Downs in the future

Do you have a particular favourite ride in the area? Always like a recommendations route/area esp as I organize a cycle-get together for work! I like riding out from Brockenhurst personally

Those are 3 of my favourites. They are on the long side, but it's always a case of trimming to fit what people are capable of. You can do small bits, big chunks, or the whole rides, they are all quite nice routes.

Ta very muchly for the inspiration -Those are pretty impressive and the kind of routes I am aiming to be able to cover in the future! For the So'ton to Winch do you follow that National Route 23? A colleague said it wasn't a nice cycle and has put me off trying it.

The Southampton to Winch route, only uses the quieter nicer bits of Route 23, then deviates onto the leafy quieter back tracks up past Farley mount and Sparsholt, and goes into Winchester via the less freaky back route.
