Hi
I have been reading through some reviews on this site as I was buying a new bike on a budget of £500 and looked like voodoo hoodoo was the one to go for at £449. So off I went to Halfrauds to get it and when I got there thought I would touch and dream about a Boardman. To my surprise one of the wonderful staff there had made a mistake on the pricing of the Boardman MTB Team and it was priced at £539.00 instead off £849.00. So after a few bits of hand waving and shouting at the manager I finally got it for £539.00.

I still cant believe it £539.00 cant wait to go out and ride it now.
Does anyone here have anything bad to say about this bike I know I cant complain with the price I paid just wanted some feedback.

Hi and welcome, b2b. I know nothing about MTBs but the Boardman brand is well respected and even at normal prices they're usually good value for money. Just make sure that the bike has been correctly assembled. Halfords only have to do about 3 things to the bikes when they arrive in the shop but sometimes only get round to doing 2. Happy riding from south of the river.

Thanks for the welcome..
Yeah I know going to go through it all before first ride don't trust them at all but for price I had to give them my money.
I think they have a problem with pedals does anyone here know about this and if so should I get a new set fitted asap?
And what pedals can someone recommend that are not too expensive?

Welcome from a fellow east Londoner. Sounds like you got a cracking deal.
I personally would try the pedals for about a week. If you still dont like them after that then visit wiggle online and compare prices vs reviews.

Hi again and thanks for all the welcomes :hello:
I picked up my bike from Halfrauds this afternoon and it was suppose to be ready to go...LMAO
Everything was loose and breaks where locked on to disc so wheels did not move freely front and back.
And add to that only one tyre was pumped up correctly....Ready to go to hospital maybe. :B)
After a couple of hours of TLC I now have a fully working bike READY TO GO!

Well it was worth every penny and great fun to ride took it a bit easy at first then pushed more everything was great and very smooth.
Brakes are good but needs to settle in of course and the bike feels superlight. A few people have complained about pedals but I think they are fine but it is early days still. Smiling even more now at that steal of a price and would see why now people are happy to pay £899.
I cant wait for the morning now want to go riding. ^_^
