Cheers everybody. Currently riding a hybrid that I got 2nd hand. Will do just now until I figure out what kind of cycling I want to do.

Going to commute the 20 miles from Denny to Alloa as well as longer cycles at weekend.

Is it ok to cycle over Kincardine/Clackmannanshire bridge without being blown away??

Welcome! Clackmannanshire bridge is quite open to the wind, but it's a nice wide path to compensate for any wobbles.

We ride a lot in central scotland with the very informal cc Ecosse group. It's a mix of all bikes, all abilities, and always cake consumed. Keep an eye on informal rides , and also the irn bru thread in the cafe section to get a chance to get to know everyone. Great group of people who brought my cycling on no end.

Welcome! We rode over the Clackmannanshire Bridge today, as part of the Women's 100K event organised by Stirling Cycle Hub. A wee bit breezy on the bridge, but nothing to worry about.

Cool, I'm out tomorrow morning so will try it then.

Don't want to get into cycling then have to stop for winter - that already happens with golf - so commuting will keep it going hopefully.
