Have had my bike for a couple of weeks now and, as I said in my 'hello' post - my intention being to commute to work a couple of days a week and enjoy weekend cycling. Anyway - i've also decided to set myself some targets (just to keep the interest going) and one is to enter the Norwich 50 mile event next year.

So, I've made a point of going out for a ride, just a few miles, after work every day this week. I've had a few moments or should I say 'encounters' with drivers who are none to pleased they are having to wait a while behind a rather slow moving (as they might see it) road block - but, I do my best to hold ground (well road) and refuse to be pushed into the gutter....

Don't get me wrong - I realise I'm slow and I do keep as far left as I can and I ride on cycle tracks where they exist - but my general thought is that after 6pm in the evening and on local, what I imagine to be, B roads - I shouldn't have to contend with drivers intent on passing as close as possible, when it's just not necessary, but I suppose I'll have to accept it happens and keep smiling.
But I shall persist and my intention is to keep at it - not be put off by the odd idiot driver and generally enjoy the freedom of being on two wheels
