I got the most appreciated Xmas present ever - some Hotronics heated insoles. The batteries have been charging for the recommended 72 hours, and I was thinking of taking them for a little test today. I'm not sure how to attach the battery pack to myself - do you put them on your cycling shoes? The cable seems a bit long for that.....but I can't think of what else you are supposed to do with them.

Thanks for any help!!!

Clip to boots or use optional extension leads to waist or higher.

HI there - nice to hear someone else has some Hotronics insoles. I think they're better than sliced bread by some way

Anyway to the batteries - because I use the insoles with summer (vented) shoes and Windstopper overshoes, the top of the overshoe forms a tight, firm band that I use to clip the batteries on to just behind my ankle bone on the outside of my leg. Just for reinforcement (and to stop the zips being opened by the extra weight), I also add a velcro band wrapped around my leg just under the top of the overshoe. I use just plain black velcro but you could kill two birds with one stone and use those reflective ankle bands. The wire just makes a loop out of the top of the overshoes - I keep it to the outside of my ankle so that they don't foul anything on the bike and they're no trouble once you're going.

I've just realised that this is assuming you've got the clips on the batteries. I can see that there would be a mystery if you don't have these in place.
