I got a pair of Bont Riot shoes - they fit well apart from the instep being a bit high. Have already ovened then a couple of times, but the instep won't seem to budge. Now I'm tempted to use a clamp to do this after heating them, or failing that, put some additional material under the insoles to raise the whole foot relative to the instep.

Anyone have experience of either of these methods?

i have the same shoes - even thought the instep does seem quite high, even after heat moulding. You don't feel it when on the bike, well at least i don't anyway

also after a fair few uses the will stretch and become more supple, just keep using them and they will become almost slipper like

The problem is less when on the bike (as thats what the shoes are for afterall!) but just on the left foot it rubs a bit right at the outside of the instep when riding. Think this is down to the cf sole - so am tempted to try one of the remedies i've thought of, or failing that do a few more "standard" remoulds (heat then wear) of the base and see if it budges slightly.
