Friday night I was ill in the van, 6 hours of severe stomach cramps and vomiting nothing. I got onto NHS Direct eventually 'cos I thought my number was up; if I'd had morphine I would have injected myself.

I've had this 3 or 4 times in the past year, always when I'm away from home at Heathrow. I'd thought it could be a stomach ulcer or, from info gleaned from this 4um, microbiology-related issues with unclean water bottles.

However, the night doctor rang me just as it started to ease off; from the symptoms (always after icecream, cream cheese etc) and vomiting a miky froth, he thinks I have gallstones.

So I need an ultrasound scan...

If it is gallstones you have my sympathy!

I have had issues since last October, when an ultrasound confirmed several stones. I'm now awaiting a cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal).
I have ended up in A&E in absolute agony, convinced my number was up!!
Severe pain and nausea/vomiting, are common symptoms.

I am on a very strict diet and over the past year have come to know what sets me off, this includes;
red meat, pork, white bread, ALL diary, (cheese, soft cheeses, milk) and most things above a 5% fat content.
All I currently tolerate with little or no pain is chicken, turkey, vegetables, fruit, pasta, soreen malt loaf, wholemeal bread, jams etc.

I hope they get you sorted soon!
I had similar symptoms, slightly less regularly, for a couple of years. Stomach cramps, trying to make myself sick to relieve them but not always succeeding. Then one morning after an evening of the same I rolled over in bed and felt like molten metal was moving from one side of my abdomen to the other. Cue an ambulance to A&E and surgery to remove a ruptured appendix the next morning. No symptoms since.

I'm not suggesting this is your problem, I'm just after some sympathy.
Ouch!!! You poor baby! (is that ok?) lol
Really though, that's very nasty

I had gallstones, and forget morphine if I had a gun I would have shot myself

If it is, just get the operation to remove the gallbladder ASAP, it's amazing and I can now eat cheese again

You should Google'Plant based diet' very doable.

That would have been my laymans guess, having read a bit about them recently. My friend thought he had gallstone symptoms and it turned out to be a grumbling appendix which started shouting when he was at sea on his boat. Got back just in time and had a few complications as a result.

The ultrasound will tell and is a lot less uncomfortable than something like a gastcroscopy which I had recently.
