Upgrading steel frame racing bike very soon.
Even if I was not doing so, headset is a bit notchy currently. I believe I require a 1 inch headset. I will be using the upgrade to add carbon forks. Is there anything I should know about this process ? What sort of headset would be advisable ? I will be doing most of the work on the upgrade BUT I will be using a LBS to fit the headset. Would I much notice the quality diff from a Campag Chorus h/set ( at about £45 - £50 or so ) and the superstar Chris King ( at the £110 or so mark ) ??? Ta very much for any and all comments.

Cheap and expensive feel very similar, just expensive feel like that for a lot longer.

If new fork, then I guess Aheadset then ? TBH I wouldn't bother upgrading a steel fork to carbon on a steely - you have the best of both worlds.....

Ta for any and all comments. Bit about the forks worth thinking about. Maybe stick with my Reynolds 531 steel, buy Ultegra threaded headset ( to replace mine on its last legs ) and use the saved cash to splash out on the bestest, lightest new wheels I can afford.
Ta again fossyant for that wake-up call !
