Headset... Have I lost a bit ?

In my attempt to grease my bearings unfortunately when I undid everything the fork dropped and I may have lost a bit as the steerer won't tighten at all when I fasten the top cap. I suspect that its something that sits below the bottom bearing. Once the bottom beaing is placed in the frame should there be anything between the top of the fork and the bottom of the lower bearing, maybe a spacer or something? My headset is a FSA threadless.

You should have the crown race which sits on the fork crown and makes contact with the bottom bearing. Do you know the model number? FSA have the tech drawings on their website.
