I am delving into the world of repair and renew and I am trying to get my daughter's old Trek Navigator 200 back up to full functioning. Its headset bearings are quite notchy, I took them off the bike, lubed and greased and reassembled but they are pretty worn and I need to replace them. BUT when I looked for new bearings I was amazed by the variety all of which looked unsuitable. To be more precise, it is a threaded headset, with 1 1/8" , semi cartridge sealed bearings They lose their seals which is why I could lube them!.
There seems to be nothing available on line and shops try to sell me unthreaded headset bearings.
So does anyone have any advice about where I can get new ones from - or compatible ones.
