Headseat cover cracked -would you ride it?

The seal for my headset has cracked , leaving a gap in it .

I do not have time to goto the LBS till Saturday and i have 20 miles of riding to do on it .The bike still feels stable with no play etc .

I am loathe to leave it at home and take the boardman as i do not trust people not to damage it accidently in the bike sheds or have it pinched.

Personally I wouldn't. If it goes under braking it could be enough to make you lose your balance. It would probably trash something too.

Looks like its the nice bike tomorrow and take an extra lock making 3 on it when i leave it in the bike shed )

Dammit !

Looks like my seatpost rack does not fit larger diameter seat posts !

Time to dig out a back pack for some sweaty back
