Heads up - Lidl torches

This Thursday, Lidl have camping kit on special offer. The thing to watch out for is the LED torch. It's got a 3W Cree Led in it, and is plenty bright. Fifteen quid. Buy one and strap it to your handlebars for a cheapskate front light.

that works quite well, also if you can't get to lidl see if Tesco's has their 3W LED torch in, its black with a press bottom switch and is a mere £7.

Could one be gutted and the bits put into ones EverReady NightRider one wonders.

One could, I'm sure. But if it went wrong, one might be gutted, or merely disappointed.

Melonfish, I haven't seen the Tesco 3W torch for ages, which is annoying. I think they've dropped it from their range. I used to have one, but I lost it.

They do carry a cheap LED torch, but it's a multi LED thing, rather than a single 3W job.

Nuts. Mrs. Hall has just returned from Lidl, enquiring if I checked the dimensions. That'll be a "no" then. The damn things are almost ten inches long.

While this may be acceptable for some battery powered gadgets, it's not really on for something strapped to the handlebars.

I've bought one. They're really heavy, and 10 inches long, but if it was a really nasty night I'd be glad of it.

Thing is - can I get the LED in to my redundant EL530?

The most worrying thing about this too-good-to-be-true bargain is this:

"While the batteries are charging, you can take video."

So you can't record video while riding?

I bought one of these when I realised how big the lidl one was. This is tiny and should mount to the handlers and leave plenty of room for computer etc.

Bit more pricey but looks to be worth it

They are pretty big for use on a bike, but they would double up as useful clubs to use against road rage drivers!

If its like the Tesco one the front end comes off, and you can wire in connections to a better, rechargable battery. Havent dont it myself but it looks easy enough. You'd have to find some way of fitting it though.
