Listen to this.

On 28th May this year, my garden shed was broken into, and my Carerra Subway 8 stolen.
It was much modified with retro saddle, bars, stem, tyres & handlegrips.

I don't think the chap would know this bike was stolen, because what theif in his right mind would ride the bike he knicked along the same road as where he stole it?

The guy had a little lad on a small bike with him, so I think he bought my bike off the theif unwittingly.

Now I know my Subway 8 is local, I will keep my eye out.

Crackle +1

The police asked me nicely to stay away from the guy if I saw him again. It is OK to follow him to his address, and contact the police then.

They said it is tricky recovering my own property. If he puts up a struggle and I lay him out, he could do ME for assault

As long as I get an address, the cops will do the business.

2 points

1) photograph him riding it.

2) Run him over and say it was an accident and a coincidence.

Let us know how you get on.

When my bike got nicked I had a dream I'd see it cycling down the street and I could go out and push the person of it. Unfortuanly the insurance company just gave me a new bike and I never saw my old one again *

(*not unfortuantly I got a new bike , just unlucky i never saw the old one again).

You'd be surprised, criminality doesn't require intelligence

Indeed...

"Members of the group set fire to the woman's belongings before dumping her body under brush several miles away.
However, authorities were alerted after Foster's son and another member of the group went to a supermarket in the town of Bogalusa and asked how they could remove bloodstains from their clothes. The shop assistant recognised them and called police, who went to the scene and found five members of the group in the woods.
"The IQ level of this group is not impressive, to be kind," Sheriff Jack Strain told a news conference, adding, "I can't imagine anyone feeling endangered or at risk by any one of these kooks."
Weapons, Ku Klux Klan flags, five white Klan uniforms and a black "imperial wizard" uniform were found at the campsite."

The opposition lobby group to America's National Rifle Association compensates for its relative lack of funding by running a similar award, dedicated to dumb firearm incidents. The winner a few years ago was a man who, waking up and seeing 'an intruder' at the end of his bed, reached under the pillow for his trusty .38 and shot a neat hole thru' his foot.

I had a bike nicked (about 18 years ago).

I was walking along some time later and saw a lad on it. I quickly and violently retrieved it. The police just said (I had reported the theft so I felt obliged to unreport it): "Don't tell me how you got it back ,but I hope you hurt him."

Mind you, that was traditional South Wales policing.
