Really like the idea, though not sure my mudguards would. I wonder when they'll be available.

I like the look of those, but like would need to check theres enough clearance with my mudguards.

I did purchase some Marathon Winters in November but hd not got round to putting them on.

Edit: Don't try cycling on frozen ponds at home, kids!

just had a look at the video, very impressive but I was thinking at the start that it looked as if it was slipping off sideways and on the lake at the end one of the front segments looked a moment away from coming off completely, I'd be interested to get a set and have a play with and see how robust they are hooning around in the hills.

Good idea, but its far more convenient to get winter tyres and or a spare bike or wheels. Can imagine they would be terribly slow compared to studded tyres (that are slow to start with).

Other point is the studs would need to be tungsten, otherwise they won't last long.

The price would need to be much cheaper than studed tyres though.

Can't get studs for bromptons, these would be an acceptable alternative for emergencies.

Thats what I was wondering. How well do they stay on and how durable would they be in mixed snow and tarmac conditions?

I can see them chewing themselves to bits the way they are.

Awesome idea though if it works!
