I have been doing a pretty high (for me) mileage and very regular rides since Christmas. I have said before on other threads that it is really beginning to work, both in my cycling and my weight loss. I have to be careful not to overdo things so I have had a couple of days off, and wont ride again until Saturday when I will be doing a 40 odd miles outing which will be 4 days idle.

For a change I went swimming today. Being old I get a discount and only pay £2, a bargain when considered with the free bus ride to get to the pool! I haven't been swimming for several months, and don't I know it. I covered a kilometre, but not non stop. I did it in batches of 10 lengths with 5 minutes between sessions. I am more knackered now than when cycling. I want to tone my upper body a bit as I lose weight and swimming seems a good way to do it.

Cycling and swimming is good a combination I think.:thumbsup:
Oh and less of the 'old'. The word is 'mature'^_^
