My best bike is matt celeste, which attracts dirt for fun and after over a year of use it's looking grubby despite regular cleaning. I've tried:

Iso propyl alcohol
Methyl alcohol
Mr Sheen
Car polish
Solvol Autosol chrome polish
Paraffin
Hot water with detergent
Muc-off bike cleaner
Alloy wheel cleaner

Some of these will remove the grey marks from chain oil but nothing restores the beautiful colour.

Any suggestions?

Fire, lots of fire followed by a big hammer. Then you have a great excuse to buy something cleanable , tongue firmly in cheek

Once you've got the chain area clean I'd be tempted to plaster it in silicone spray to keep the dirt off but that may take away some of the mattiness.

I've considered getting it clear lacquered but somebody warned me that the lacquer might not agree with the paint. I need to talk to the paint guru Neil at Atlantic Boulevard in Bury. In fact he might also recommend a cleaner. I'll also look at that stuff @keithmac recommends.

I'd be tempted to ask the supplier.

Once clean, it's worth applying a paint sealant and/or quality wax to stop the dirt sticking in the first place. Works well on my Matte Black, with Celesté pinstripe.

You can get special bike cleaning wipes, a sort of baby wipe for bikes (runs for cover!). They do matte finishes pretty well.

How could you possibly condone the use of wipes for cleaning bicycles, you have zero mental capacity ;).
