Some how I managed to get my jacket caught up in the rear dérailleur on my Sirrus Elite. This resulted in it breaking the lug on to which it is bolted to the frame. See pic for details! Even if I could find the bit that has come off I doubt whether it could be welded on, correct? I guess I need a replacement frame!

Good news.
You don't need a new frame. The rear mech hanger has done its job by snapping thus preventing damage to the frame. You can buy new hangers, just make sure you get the right one one for your bike. Link to hangers.

Then it is just a case of removing the remains of the old one, attaching the new one and putting back on the derailleur. I had to replace mine a couple of years ago following a crash.

Done, ordered from Edinburgh Bicycles. Isn't cc great, instead of buying new frame I've got away with only spending a tenner plus postage for next day delivery.

Superb

That sounds a very good price for the hanger, a spare for my Enduro was best part of thirty quid!

Bu88er

I was about to offer to take that useless frame off your hands, and only charge you postage for the service!

Down here in carrot cruncher land we have hills. I need every single one of the 27 gears to get up them. In fact yesterday a few more would have been very helpful!

I did the same when my derailleur picked up a large sheet of plastic lying beside the trail. No separate hanger but with a titanium frame you can bend the lug back.
