Parents had (still do for that matter) a caravan on the coast, we used to go every weekend Fri after school to Sun night and for the duration of the school holidays.
Mates dad had the bouncy castle on the cliff top so from age 12 I would be taking the money on that. By 14 I was working on the other attractions, Bingo, Dodgems, Speedway, very little pay but good for a laff, also did a season smudging when I was 15.
First proper job (money wise but still at school) was a season in the chippy £1.50 a hour, but July/ August it was a 100+ hours a week. (think some employment laws may have been broken there)
Then when I left school it was into the mill to serve an apprenticeship and day release at college.( the money dropped and also the fun factor)
