I wonder if anyone can help me with a pedal problem? I have Shimano Ultegra PD6620 pedals on my road bike which I find quite difficult to release from. I have decreased the tension to the minimum point but still find it quite an effort to twist and release. The situation is not helped by having a dodgy left knee - my preferred release side - but nonetheless it does seem to me that my shoe is held far to firmly.

Has anyone any ideas about decreasing the tension still further?

I have one pair of cheap ALDI shoes that work perfectly well on my SPD pedals, but a more expensive pair of Shimano shoes jam up so tight that I can't use them. You might find that you have the same problem, that the tread on your shoes is slightly too deep. 1 mm could make all the difference. If that's the case, you might be able to sand a bit off the tread!

PS I'd change the thread title to something more meaningful if you want more advice ! Something like My SPDS are too tight!. If you can't change it, send a PM to Shaun (Admin) and he'll sort it out for you.
