My son has been promised a new bike for his birthday, he will be 15, and I would like to get something that will last him for a few years. My local bike shop has a range of Haro bikes. on the face of it, they look pretty good, has anyone had any experience of them? The brand is new to me, how do they compare to other makes in the same price range?

Potted history here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haro_Bikes

I remember their early days and had an original Haro Freestyler back in '83. Their reputation took a turn for the worse after Bob Haro sold the company but it seems to have improved itself following a second take over and produces some decent quality stuff nowadays.
