I did 6 miles with 2 granddaughters in the trailer. They loved it. The eldest, who is 3/12, kept saying "I don't want to go home, I want to go somewhere" as soon as she knew we were heading back home. When we got home the youngest, who is 18 months, was asleep in her sister's arms.
It should have been an easy ride but made more difficult by the fact I never checked the state of the trailer tyres. When I took wheels off found the tyres were flat . Pumped them up and made mental note to check them in future :pump:.

Couldn't read this thread this morning as it was making me feel guilty for not wanting to go out.

Guess what..... i went out! ha ha. Did my usual route of 15 miles and it pissed it down half way round  Ah well, good to get out and burn off some energy.

Gbola - lovely looking bike there!

Spent just over an hour this morning cleaning both road bikes and lubing the chains and, with the roads being damp from overnight rain, I decided to take the Triban out - no planned route, just see where the mood took me.

Managed 40 miles looping around and through Ipswich and the surrounding villages and it seemed that quite a few others were taking the opportunity to get out on the quiet roads.

Unfortunately the last 10 miles home were in a downpour that arrived earlier than forecast so the workstand was called into use again - this time as a clothes horse.

Happy new year to one and all.....

Mrs Salad and I had a plan to ride to the local country park today, via the local cafe for some breakfast. Got about 2 miles from home and her bike got a front wheel p*****re. And I forgot that her e-bike needs a spanner to release the wheel. A spanner which I had left at home.....

So we called in on her brother who lived about 400 yards from the site of our predicament, borrowed a spanner, fixed the tube, and then went straight home as it had started raining! (I want to encourage Mrs Salad to ride more, so making the ride longer than necessary, with a potentially dodgy tyre, didn't seem an ideal way to get her to come out riding more often.....)

Total mileage about two and a half.

Better luck tomorrow!

Im struggling with a terrible boomerang cold :heat: Damn things been on me for about 5 weeks now on/off/on/off
Same here. Had really bad cold for 2 weeks. Been going out riding in the wet and I work outside. Don't know if all that makes it worse or not but now I've got a nagging cough as well. Bugger !

I've been lumbered with a cold for the last few weeks, in my case its actually better if I go out but I'd draw the line at a cough, GWS!

Fran hasn't seen the forecast for tomorrow; or is VERY brave ^_^. Well done for today, I was out as well, coincidentally for 22 miles. Up to Loch Thom (tailwind) then down to Inverkip and back to Largs (headwind; struggled to do 8mph on the flat!).

Well I may revise my plan.....just spent 30 mins outside collecting my rubbish that had made a great escape! No cycling for me so either off out to turbo or Mr Bannatynes.
