They cost about $1500.00 and you have to be put on a waiting list. They are not mass produced but made by 2 men in switzerland.

I heard one for the first time being played by a busker outside Tate Modern.I was transfixed by the thing. Like a bashed wok that sounds like a steel drum but somehow mournful.

I fancy one of those too! Drumming stuff always appeals to me...the early nineties saw Evelyn Glennie's Rythmn Sticks festival on London's South Bank, where all the new bangy things were available to play with. Great times!

I bought a wok from Habitat years ago - I cook with it occasionally, but the best thing is the lid, which when tapped with a knuckle, gives off a tone and vibration that goes right into my soul!

A real feel-good factor!

Not quite as 'hippy-like' as this, but along the same lines!

Hi Dayvo - have seen Stomp four times now -the best was at Sadlers Wells (no leg room for the foot tapping) when my son and his mate Jamie bongoed everything all the way home after meeting Luke Cresswell and Co.
I saw them as pookiesnackenburger when I worked in Covent Garden - I think they did a Heineken ad? - but now the show is mega. Lots of licences but I guess the talent is still the same. The broomstick dance is fab, the matchboxes, the zippo lighters... go and see it if you haven't.

Saw them in Stockholm about six years ago; they were excellent. They returned two years ago but the tickets were three times the price they were before, so didn't go!
