Handlebar tape - cleaning - cork

Recently wrapped my handlbars in orange cork tape and now they're grubby as hell, tries cillit bang but did absolutely nothing....anyone got any tips on cleaning them or even any specific products to use?

try wd40, or neat washing up liquid.

Solution = A damp cloth with a blob of washing up liquid ! Scrub in and done. Now I am talking about Cork ribbon from the likes of Cinelli/Decathlon etc. (see get it ^_^ any make).

White - then, well, you learned your lesson !:whistle:

I've found the Planet-X Microfibre tape to be quite resistant to dirt. I've got the brown version that more or less goes with the Honey coloured Brooks.

My best bike has tarty white bar tape (I know, I know), which I kep clean with weak bleach + water mix , then rinse thoroughly. The bar tape doesn't seem to suffer nd it works

All my oother bikes have black bar tape :-)
