Anyone suffered with their hamstring tendon? After 5 sessions with a physio it looks like my problem is now iscolated to the tendon to the side of my left knee. I have a range of exercises to do and have been doing these the past few weeks but after my first work commute last Thursday for a number of weeks the tendon feels as bad as ever, this is really frustrating. Anyone had problems with this tendon and how long was your recovery? Don't get me wrong the physio has done a good job, I had other problems when I first went with both the hamstring and calf but these now seem to be resolved I am just left with the tendon problem.

Not had your problem, but I do have a bad knee (bony damage mainly).

I have found the peeps on http://www.kneeguru....Etalk/index.php to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all things knee  Might be worth registering, having a squizz through the posts and asking there

Hi

Seems like I might be suffering from the same problem as you. I've had the pain in the outer tendon at the back of my left knee for the last three rides now. I ride clipless and have been for about three or four months, so was just wondering if that might be the problem, but again the pain has only come about over the last three rides and it's very painful. Normally gone after about three days of rest though. Very strange.

I wish my tendon would heal after a few days I am still suffering, everytime I attempt to get on the bike or do any awkward movements I can feel a pulling sensation, stiffness and pain......oh joy...all I seem to be doing at the moment is replenishing my kit after the bike and bits were stolen!!!

Anyone else suffered a tendon problem?

Hamstrings can be a right bugger. I have had plenty of hamstring injuries as a runner and the causes vary. Thankfully the treatments do not.
A lack of a warm up is a major cause but not the only one. Cold days and over exercise are just as guilty

Rest, deep massage and a jolly good icing are what sort me out. Get those thumbs in deep or use a hard ball on the floor under your stretched out leg. Put weight on it, make circular motions and enjoy one of those crazy but 'good' pains
