Anyone else find that Halfords brand of tyres and tubes are poor quality? I've had several 700C road tyres that disintegrated at low mileages. Once or twice might have been bad luck, but after that it must mean something! Same with inner tubes, which seem to have a habit of splitting along the ridges where they're joined together. First, you get a small hole, which looks like a puncture from a thorn. You think you're fixed that, but then it develops into a large tear that can't be patched. Not impressive, especially as both the tubes and tyres aren't particularly cheap.

Halfrauds own brand tyres are a waste of time. My 26" MTB tyres were retired after 3 months due to the number of punctures I suffered. There branded tyres are well over priced. Inner tubes I have not had a problem with but far superior products can be bought for the same price. Avoid like the plague is my advice.

So Halfords spares are ****, official! Why go there? Because they have big stores in convenient places, and in desperation any tyre or tube is better (just) than nothing.
Incidentally, the most I've managed on a Halfords brand tyre is about 1200 miles, whereas my record for a quality one is nearly 7000.

I got some Continental tubes from Halfords, and i'm sure they were the same price as their own make, they've been brilliant.

Halfords are total sh*t and pricey. Not worth the bother at all.

I have too, and cannot believe they're selling Conti innertubes for the same price as their own.
BTW, at the tiime, they were advertising them online at about £4 each, but when i got to the tills they tried to charge me £5 each....no no no.....they then charged me £4 each.
Why would anyone buy Halfords own brand when you can have Conti's.

Although the do have the occasional bargain, eg Minoura workstands reduced to £45 from £90 everywhere else. The £5 Conti tyres were good too. I assume no-one thinks of going to Halfords for proper kit.

But yes, most of their other stuff is overpriced junk.

Halfords tyres are indeed shoot and pretty much the same price as decent offerings from the big brands so why is everyone buying them? - STOP NOW; NO MORE BUYING shoot TYRES FROM HALFORDS!!! Tyres are an important part of any bike and you should get decent ones - you wouldn't want a blow-out going 45mph down your favourite hill would you!
