If you like the clips, stick with them. You'll get little further benefit as your foot is already being held on the pedal which is the main benefit of clipless. Using a stiff soled shoe may be beneficial for comfort on longer rides

Cycling more will be most beneficial to your cycling

If you like the clips, keep them. I prefer cleats & clipless because it keeps my feet in the right position. Do what you feel comfortable in .

I had a similar dilema when purchasing my road bike as I thought "If I ride/visit somewhere such as a stately house I don't want to be walking around in my cleated cycling shoes".
So...........I got what I call "double sided pedals"............normal flats on one side & cleats on the other.
I have done 750 miles on it now and never used the flats as I like the cleats so much
On my hard tail......it came with clips-but I took them off as I didn't like them.........I find very little difference.......apart from the fact I don't fall off now:laugh:
The guy I tend to ride with uses clips and is perfectly happy with them.

Re-reading my answer I realise it is absolutely no use to you but it does highlight that it is basically what YOU are comfy with.

I rode with a new group on Wednesday who all had cleats and clipless and I noticed that I was always faster away at junctions and traffic lights and I have full clips and straps. I noticed that I was pushing down on the pedal at the same time as sliding my foot in whereas they were clipping in their second foot relying on the momentum of the down stroke from their first foot. They were all fitter and stronger than me though, so, it just helped me to keep up! And they all walked funny at the cafe stop!
