Well thats a slight exaggeration due to time we had to divert our route slightly however 48 miles is my new longest ride. Had to really push the last 10 miles to get back in time but definately felt I could have gone on further.

First ride with the clipless pedals as well which really seemed to improve my pedaling, suprisingly easy to clip in and out.

Why 64.
Friendly tip, think metric.
77Km sounds much more impressive than 48 miles.

Well done!
Naw it don't, anyone that knows anything knows that a Km is just under 2/3 of a mile.;)

Coz it means you break the metric century at 102 km roughly 64 miles

ETA - thats just the way I worked it out. 62.5 seemed odd and I wanted to make sure I well and truely past it

Thanks everyone I appreciate the congratulations. If anything this ride has made me want to get out and clock up more miles.

Can i ask what pedals?
And well done.

I have Shimano M324 pedals.

Friendly tip, think metric.

I do feel I need to embrace metric, my brain is struggling to move away from miles!

I also broke through the 50 mile mark this weekend. Although I DIDN'T feel I could have gone on much longer, my out and back route turned me round into the wind and it was really hard going. My training plan talks of 65-70 next weekend, but I'm thinking I might split it up a bit with a cafe stop or a pitstop at home.

Well done, Dave
