hairspray on handlebar grips

Is it true that you can use hairspray to stick handlebar grips back on the handlebars? The grip of a friend's child's bike is loose. I've never tried it, but then I don't often (like never) buy hairspray.

Yes you can, but it is not normally required. Take the grip off and clean the bar properly before sliding it back on though.

Give it a go (if you can find some hairspray!).

Something like Spray Mount as used by artists and designers to stick paper to board will also do.

Bar grips are easier to push on if you push from the outer end, compressing and enlarging them.

Yes it works. I "borrowed" a can of extra hold from mother-in-law. Allows grips to just slide on, leave to dry for a good few hours and job done.
