Had my first clipless moment today (only started using them also). Setting off from my house I couldn't for the life of me get my left foot engaged, all the while I am losing valuable speed, tried again to engage, nothing and over I went. Lucky for me there was not a soul in sight so dignity is still safe.

Hahaha, it happens to us all, I did it after being left hooked by a car at the bottom of a really steep hill, I got back on the bike and rode to the top, stopped at the top to have a moan, ended up sliding back down.

I'll admit to a couple of those when first trying out the look pedals.

The most embarrasing was attempting to turn right on a busy main road and going over slap bang in the middle bringing both lanes of traffic to a halt while they waited for me to remove myself from their path.

I had mine at a mini roundabout in the middle of a town centre on a Saturday afternoon - only about 100 witnesses, not all of the laughed.

Anyway, as for being a proper roadie, are you working on your air of smug superiority? It took me ages to perfect mine

I started using clipless pedals april this year, I've had a few clipless moments and have came away questioning the wisdom of such a system, yet I stuck with it and I'm used to them now although I do struggle to get clipped in if cycling up a steep hill, it usually means I have to push until the road is less steep then I can try and clip in again.
