Well, i guess it had to happen at some point

Today whilst cleaning my beautiful Trek, it took an injury whilst my back was turned (it fell).

When I checked there are now some scuff/gouge marks in the paintwork on the lower bit of a seatstay  Does anyone think they may have affected the integrity of the carbon/frame or is it just paint damage? If so, what could i use to "seal" the paint?

Thanks guys, i appreciate your opinions..(apologies for the crap photos btw, only have a cameraphone)

Looks like it's just paint damage.
Time to invest in a workstand

No comment about the CF, but at least the majority of the scuff is on the white decal which makes it far easier to touch up, the blue will be trickier to find a good match.

Always wondered why bike manufacturers don't make touch up paints like you can buy for cars. I'm sure they sell like hot cakes.

FYI, Peugeot do a colour called Aegean Blue (Arrecife Bleu in French) which looks similar, and then of course there's the WRC Subaru blue colour as well. which may be a good match.

Have you emailed the supplier to see if they can give you some touch up paint? We have some for our kids Islabikes, just assumed you could get it from all manufacturer's??

I'm afraid the CF will start to deteriorate and crumble to powder now the air has gotten to it

Thanks guys, I wasn't sure as one of the gouges looked quite deep. Will try nail varnish, my fibre flare will conceal the damage
