Gunk

Is the de-greasing product Gunk, suitable for cleaning bikes, as i can get this free from work ?

Gunk always used to be great at removing grease, and is superb for cleaning bikes. You MUST lubricate things afterwards though.

Wynns Carb Cleaner is good on grease too. But I'd be very careful where you spray that kind of thing if I were you.

Why not?

Because it washes out all the oil out of it which it very hard to get back in. As a friend of mine found out after words riding in the rain turns your chain brown no matter how much you clean it.

It is one of the biggest things that is debated in cycling. I stand next to the Mickle method BTW
