Grown up !!!

rode into town and back, only about 20k but i did a little bit on a main road !!! scary, felt like a proper cyclist when i stopped and had a drink, old bike didnt have a water bottle holder thingy, new one has, felt quite grown up

Not that there's anything wrong with stopping to have a drink. I usually stop when I want a drink, often at the top of a hill, and feeling I've earned it as I take in the view and anticipate my descent. I don't race and I rarely ride to a deadline.

So true: 18 months ago I never knew bikes had inner tubes (figured it was all a BIG tyre, ha ha!) now I set out on a 50 miler without a second thought, donning lycra, pink trainers and "cat" Tee shirts.
Growing old gracefully? Not yet!

Me too. No gracefulness here! I go out in Lycra, PINK, and I mean really PINK top, shorts, grey and pink shoes and my socks usually have pink on too. AND I've got a pink helmet
