Groupset help please

Sorry for asking a stupid question but:

If I get hold of say, a full 105 groupset, am I right in assuming that this will fit onto any road bike frame that has an English BB ?

I hope this answer doesn't come across as pedantic but given the general nature of the question and the numerous variants and varieties of 105 components over the years, the simple answer has to be no.

For example there are 105 threaded headsets that are incompatible with frames for threadless headsets, 105 external bb's that will require properly faced bb shells, front mechs with different clamping requirements/sizes that are frame specific, and indeed 105 hubs that require different rear dropout distances. I suspect these examples are not exhaustive.

not a stupid question, the varieties of 105 flavour's are impressively big. as record says, a bit of research and knowledge is needed.
