A couple of 5 years ago when David Beckham broke his metatarsal there seemed to be a whole spat of other footballers suffering the same injury. You might think it could have had something to do with their boots offering inadequate protection. Nowadays it's the groin injury that's in vogue. I've lost count of the times when a footballer is injured and can't play because he has a groin injury.

Before a match it's the modern way to warm up on the pitch for 20 minutes or so and you see them doing stretching routines. Is this cause I wonder?

Sometimes too much stretching, can create a problem where none existed.

I did not know that, I always thought most footballers warm were paphetic with very little science or effort put in. You should see a gymnast warm up.
