hiya guys, sorry if this topic has already been covered but i couldn't find it anywhere.

I was just wondering if it was possible to change a bike that has Gripshift gears to one that has the Shimano Ez-Fire gears or something similar. The gripshifts are getting on my nerves and never seem to shift properly. i only use the bike for leisure and i'm not a frequent rider although i do hope to get out on it a bit more.

any feedback is highly appreciated
Thanks

Unless you particulary want EZfire shifters ?

Try the sram xo gripshift shifters ... they're superb

Normally, it's not too big a problem to change.

What bike is it for and what front and rear deraileurs do you have?

Thats what I did with my vulcan years ago, and they worked well for years.

yeh i'm finding the grip shifters to be a pain and i rode my friends bike that had triggers and it was so much better. i know my bike is a Magna (just a cheap off the shelf one) and i cant recall what make the deraileurs are on it but i'll have a look later, unfortunately i'm off to work in a bit but thanks for the reply's guys just didnt want to make an idiot of myself and walk in to my local bike shop and ask them to change them and laugh at me.
